Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

28 oz. tomatoes, crushed by hand
1/4 cups olive oil
1/2 cups red wine
1 large onions, chopped
1 tsp. dried basil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
2 tbsp. tomato paste
1/2 cups water
28 oz. tomato puree
 salt, to taste
 black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Sauté garlic and onion in oil until lightly browned (add garlic last minute).
  2. Add all other ingredients and simmer 2 hours stirring often to prevent sticking.
